Konecranes wins e-handler order in Bangladesh
Portlink Logistics Centre in Chattogram has ordered two Konecranes E-ACE 6/7 ECC 10 DS electric container handlers, set for delivery by Q3/2025. The units offer zero tailpipe emissions, dynamic lifting, and operation times of 6–12 hours per charge. Each features a regenerative braking system and 'Truconnect Premium', providing real-time data on energy use and tire pressure.
The handlers can lift 10 t and stack 6 high (1-over-5). This marks the first e-handler deployment in Bangladesh and continues Portlink’s partnership with Konecranes, whose reach stackers the firm already uses. With per-unit recharging in about an hour and up to 20% faster lifting, the model is now available globally.
Portlink CEO Syed Iqbal Ali expects long-term savings and lower emissions from this investment. (ah)
