Kontron wins Czech rail contract
Kontron Transportation has secured a EUR 26 million contract from Czech state rail operator Správa železnic to deliver telecom infrastructure between the German border and Dolní Žleb, Kralupy and Vltavou.
The project expands Kontron’s role as a general contractor in Czechia and follows a EUR 34 million GSM-R system order in 2024. The rollout will enhance voice and data services for daily operations.
Managing director Richard Neussl said that "this project is of great strategic importance for Kontron Transportation and strengthens our strong position as the primary general contractor and supplier for Správa železnic."
Kontron Transportation sro Praha CEO Petr Vitek (pictured) added that "we're very pleased to be able to contribute to the further modernisation of rail transport in Czechia." (js)
