Korean Air adjusts Asian Pacific frequencies

Korean Air is adjusting the frequency of some routes, in response to decreasing demand for services to Japan due to tensions between Korea and Japan.

Starting today, 16 September 2019, South Korea's national carrier is suspending the Busan-Osaka route (14 flights a week), as well as Jeju-Narita (three) and Jeju-Osaka (four) from 1 November. Frequency reductions of Incheon-Okinawa (from seven to four flights a week), and Busan-Narita/Fukuoka (14-7) will be valid between 29 September and 16 November, for Incheon-Osaka/Fukuoka routes (28-21) between 27 October and 16 November.

In the meantime, Korean Air plans to focus more on other markets, such as Southeast Asia (Clark/Philippines, Chiang Mai/Indonesia), Oceania (Brisbane/Australia), and China (Zhangjiajie, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Beijing) in the winter season. (ah)
