Krummen Kerzers wins Swiss logistics award

The Swiss transport company Krummen Kerzers has won the Swiss logistics award for its pilot project “Goodbye Diesel – Hello LNG” with its partner Lidl Schweiz. The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions caused by transport. The prize honours new and especially future-oriented logistics solutions.

“Once again, we are delighted about the recognition for our work. We prove that a sustainable company strategy can be consistent with economic success,” says Peter Krummen, managing director of Krummen Kerzers. With the “Goodbye Diesel – Hello LNG” initiative, Krummen Kerzers and Lidl Schweiz put Switzerland‘s first filling stations for LNG into operation.

The two filling stations achieve a substantial reduction of the CO2 emissions and air pollutants of the firms’ own fleet. Furthermore, the companies are working with other partners to find a solution to use the existing infrastructure with liquid biogas in future. (mw)
