Kuehne+Nagel launches cost programme
Kuehne+Nagel has announced a new cost reduction programme worth over CHF 200 million per year to counter market overcapacity and margin pressure. Despite a challenging environment, the group increased net turnover by 3% to CHF 18.5 billion between January and September 2025, with EBIT at CHF 1.0 billion and net earnings of CHF 761 million. Free cash flow rose 67% to CHF 521 million.
According to its own information the company gained market share in airfreight, particularly in perishables and logistics services, and achieved progress in sea freight’s SME segment. However, currency effects weighed on third-quarter EBIT by CHF 14 million. The savings programme aims to enhance efficiency through process optimisation, automation and expanded use of shared service centres. (js)
