Kyrgyz cargo carrier to take to the skies this month?

Kyrgyz business people have commenced with the process of breathing life into the airfreight segment in their Central Asian home market, by deploying an Airbus A300F that was previously operated by the Georgian enterprise Global Charter Services. The freighter, which was built in 1982, was transferred to Bishkek last November, where it now forms the basis of business for the new KAP.kg which stands for Kyrgyz Airlines Plus.

The A300F is the only freighter registered in a country that is logistically in the shadow of its neighbours China, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Kyrgyz airlines carried only 300 t of cargo last year (1,000 t in 2018), and airfreight volumes in the Kazakh metropolis Almaty, about 200 km from the capital Bishkek, increased by 18% to 70,000 t.
