La Compagnie to carry transatlantic cargo

La Compagnie has appointed Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) to support its first-ever venture into the air cargo market. The French 100% business class airline has awarded WFS a three-year contract to handle cargo on board its A321LR between Paris Orly and New York EWR which will increase from the current four flights a week to seven next month.

This is the first time the airline has carried cargo on board its passenger services. Depending on the number of passengers, each flight is expected to carry up to 3.5 t.

John Batten, EVP Cargo - EMEAA at WFS: "La Compagnie has recognised the significant business opportunity of carrying cargo on this prime route. We are confident companies moving cargo between Europe and North America will welcome another choice of capacity in the market." (ah)
