Latam Cargo for Mother's Day

It was yesterday (15 May) in Paraguay, and it will take place in ten days' time in France and some African countries: Mothers’ Day. It is celebrated in most countries on the second Sunday in May, and was once again a peak time for transporting cut flowers.

During the three weeks before Mother's Day, the demand for flowers rose by nearly 90%. To mark the occasion, Latam Cargo, a major air cargo transport provider to, from and within Latin America, carried more than 3,500 t of flowers from Colombia, specifically from Bogota and Medellin, and more than 3,800 t from the capital of Ecuador, Quito.

Roses, carnation, mixed bouquets and green foliage were the flowers most demanded by the market. The USA, Netherlands and Brazil are the main consumers. (ah)
