Latam Group’s 30-year strategy

Latam Group, a major aviation operator in Latin America, has launched its ‘sustainability strategy’, which aims for carbon-neutrality, no waste to landfills and the protection of ecosystems in South America.

Latam will collaborate with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) to develop conservation projects and initiatives to offset 50% of its emissions from domestic operations by 2030.

The group will also seek to eliminate single-use plastics before 2023 and recycle all waste on domestic flights, with the goal to eliminate all waste sent to landfills by 2027.

The carrier will also expand its ‘solidarity plane’ programme, which provides free transport for people and cargo in health and environmental care, and at times of natural disasters.
