Leadership change at the Swedish Club in Hong Kong

The Swedish Club, a mutual marine insurance company founded by shipowners in 1872 and owned and controlled by its members, has appointed Julia Ju (pictured) as the new chief executive and area manager of its Hong Kong branch, with effect from 1 October 2025. She’ll succeed Lars A. Malm, who’ll leave the club to establish Cambiaso Risso’s new Hong Kong office.

Ju, the current head of claims in the branch, has over 20 years of experience in P&I claims. She holds LLM degrees from Southampton and Peking universities and an LLB from Dalian Maritime University.

Malm joined the club 25 years ago and held senior roles in Gothenburg before becoming managing director of the Hong Kong office in 2023. His leadership has helped the club grow in the Asia-Pacific region.

In a further move, Jason Wu has been named as the regional director for underwriting in Greater China, reporting to the Gothenburg head office.
