Less losses at Europe's airports last November


According to European airport trade body ACI Europe, the drop in freight traffic somewhat eased at -0.3% in November 2019, thanks to a +9% increase in freight volumes at non-EU airports.

 

The leading stations were FRA (175,000 t, -5.4%), CDG (157,000 t, -10.3%) and AMS (136,000 t, -5.4%). Out of the top ten European airports for freight, only three saw their traffic increasing: MAD (+13.5%, 53,000 t), LUX (+5.5%, 85,000 t) and LGG (+5.1%, 87,000 t).

 

Cumulated cargo traffic contracted by 2.7%. The airports that handled most freight volumes from January until November 2019 were FRA (1,845,000 t, -3.6%), CDG (1,736,000 t, -3.5%) and LHR (1,461,000 t, -5.9%). (ah)
