Link fortifies Europe–Brazil cargo flows
The Latam Cargo Group is launching a direct cargo service between Brussels and São José dos Campos (SJK, Brazil) on 2 October, initially operated on a weekly basis, which will increase to twice a week in the winter season, reducing transit times and costs for European customers.
Until now, cargo for SJK – located about 95 km from Guarulhos (GRU) and 180 km from Viracopos (VCP) – had to be flown to São Paulo and trucked onward.
"São José dos Campos is a key industrial hub, and our value proposition aims to provide more agile and competitive transport solutions," said Matias Cortina, commercial cargo director for Europe.
The service is expected to move around 50 t of freight per week, mainly industrial products, auto parts and consumer goods, and strengthens the city’s role as a logistics hub in southeastern Brazil.
In addition to the new operation from Belgium, Latam Cargo Group connects the USA with SJK through its cargo route from Miami, which was inaugurated in 2023. (ah)
