Logistics hub in strategic location

French logistics group Geodis is building a new 130,000 sqm logistics hub in the Netherlands. To this end, the group is acquiring 215,000 sqm of land at Trade Port Noord from Greenport Venlo.

The logistics facility will comprise a 130,000 sqm contract logistics site servicing customers from various vertical sectors and will be designed for e-commerce handling.

Near the Dutch border with Germany, the Venlo region is a strategic location in Europe, linking the nearby air and seaports of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp with the continent's major industrial markets. Construction of the new facility is scheduled to begin in 2022. (sh)
