Louisville & Indiana Railroad advances rail
John Goldman, president of the Louisville & Indiana Railroad (LIRC), recently met with US congresswoman Erin Houchin in Jeffersonville to discuss rail enhancements funded by the Federal Railroad Administration's CRISI programme. Houchin's critical support helped LIRC secure federal funding for projects aimed at improving safety, reliability, and sustainability in Southern Indiana and the Louisville metro area.
Goldman praised Houchin's advocacy, noting it has been vital in advancing initiatives that enhance operations and infrastructure. Houchin highlighted the importance of LIRC in connecting jobs and supply chains, underscoring her commitment to strengthening critical infrastructure for long-term economic growth. CRISI grants promote modernization of rail systems, improving safety and efficiency while addressing congestion and sustainability. LIRC remains dedicated to investing in its 106 miles of track, ensuring safe operations and supporting regional economic development.
