"Luna Rossa" ready to compete

After the second ship, with which the Italian challenger Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team will compete in the next America's Cup, landed in Auckland (New Zealand) on 5 October 2020, all participants –title holder Emirates Team New Zealand, Ineos Team UK as well as American Magic (New York) and Stars & Stripes Team USA (Long Beach) – have now arrived at the venue of this classic event with the world's oldest international sporting trophy.

Luna Rossa's Boat 2, built at the Persico Marine shipyard, about 10 km from Bergamo airport, was transported by the team's historic freight forwarder Pierucci from Livorno, and loaded on an AN-124-100. Together with the hull, the cargo included the mast and one of the support boats, to reach Auckland after 60 hours and 18,000 km of travel including two stopovers, in UAE and Indonesia. (ah)
