Marsa Maroc adopts 'Heyport' planning platform
Marsa Maroc, which manages 24 terminals in ten ports in Morocco, has deployed the 'Heyport' berth-planning platform in its five terminals at the port of Casablanca.
The tool, developed by the innovation and venture-building unit HHLA Next, provides real-time data on vessel tracking, weather, tides and carrier schedules, improving efficiency and transparency in terminal planning.
Integrated with local systems, 'Heyport' enables better resource allocation, faster turnaround times and collaborative planning. Marsa Maroc has reported a 90% reduction in manual communication and a time saving of 180 minutes per port call.
Heyport co-founder Jan Cantow sees the rollout as a model for scalable digital port operations. The platform also supports just-in-time arrivals, helping to cut CO₂ emissions by up to 14%, based on previous IMO and Hamburg studies. (ah)
