Mayotte's new port community system in operation

The Longoni port community in Mayotte, which is part of an archipelago in the Indian Ocean to the Northwest of Madagascar and the 101st department of France, is now connected to the cargo community systems Ci5 (see ITJ Daily of 28.08.2019). On-site training on 1 January 2020 marked the official of start of processing all port operations in Ci5.

To smooth the transition from the old AP + system to Ci5, the solutions provider MGI sent a team to Mayotte. It has trained more than 120 people on site since November 2019. One hundred and fifty users and thirty-seven companies (forwarders, handlers, shipping agents and customs) benefited from this monitoring.

For Mr. Abdoulatuf of the Sifa Transit agency, CMA-CGM’s representative in Mayotte: "After a few weeks of use, we can say that operations with CI5 are practical, simplified and accessible. There is a smooth transmission for import and several other advantages, despite (local) dysfunctions concerning exports (waiting times for gate in)." (mw)
