                        Medline prefers trains
Medline is now utilising rail transport in its supply chain for products bound for Spain to reduce its CO2 emissions. The provider of medical products is working with Transfesa Logistics, a Spanish specialist for door-to-door services, to shift more and more of its shipments from road to rail.
To this end, Medline has started using Transfesa’s intermodal rail services between Cologne, Germany, and Valencia, Spain. The cargo’s final destination is the city of Algete, northeast of Madrid.
Before opting for rail, all the company’s cargo was shipped by truck. By using combined transport, the company has decreased its former CO2 output of 602 t by 350 t. (ben)
