Milestone for Saudi port project

Hutchison Ports has inaugurated its Jazan facility in Saudi Arabia. The commission was granted in February 2021. In its first phase, the port will consist of three industrial berths, a single point mooring (SPM) facility for the Saudi Aramco refinery, and three commercial berths for containers, general cargo and bulk goods. The Hutchison Ports Jazan will be led by CEO Charlie Darazi.

A berth depth of 16.5 m will allow containerships of over 21,000 teu and bulk ships with capacities over 100,000 t to call at the port. The port has a total berth length of 1,250 m for containers, bulk and general cargo, with an annual capacity of one million teu and around 4 million t of cargo, in addition to a liquid terminal for oil tankers from Saudi Aramco.
