Mode marries Avenger Logistics
3 PL Mode Transportation, a Dallas-headquartered company, has purchased Avenger Logistics, a Chattanooga, Tennessee-based freight brokerage firm offering OTR and LTL services in North America. The financial terms of the takeover were not disclosed. The investment bankers at Capstone Headwaters were behind the deal.
Avenger Logistics was founded by Don Godsey in 2015 and achieved revenues of approximately USD 80 million in 2020. Mode, starting out with a different name in 1989, was acquired by Hub Group in 2011 and then was spun off in 2018 to York Capital Management, a private equity firm.
In November 2019, Mode and agent-based freight brokerage Sun Teck TTS merged to form a company with annual revenues of about USD 2 billion. (sh)
