Montirone added to intermodal network
Hupac is supporting the modal shift by introducing another intermodal connection for P400 semitrailers. The Swiss specialist for combined transport has added a new shuttle train between Munich (Germany) and Montirone near Brescia (Italy), offering three roundtrips per week to begin with.
The train departs from Munich every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and from Monitrone every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The intermodal service reduces CO2 emissions by 0.7 t compared to road transport. Montirone, a small but highly efficient terminal, has recently been integrated into Hupac’s intermodal network. Besides Munich, it also offers connections to Singen and Duisburg Hohenbudberg in Germany. (ben)
