More block train services to Europe

Ceva Logistics has introduced a new weekly train-ferry service from China to UK. The route's pilot shipment left Xi'an (China) by block train on 18 March 2021, bound for Kaliningrad (Russia), where the cargo was reloaded the same day onto a ferry that arrived in Immingham on 6 April.

More trials will follow in May, with regular service starting by early June. The port-to-port delivery times are 18-20 days, with door-to-door delivery times not exceeding 25 days.

Ceva has also upgraded its express block train solution from Xi'an to the port of Mukran (Sassnitz) in Germany. In addition, the company will begin operating an additional regular block train on 1 June from Xi'an to Duisburg via Malaszewicze, Poland, with a port-to-port delivery time of 15 days. (ben)
