More freight for Indian Railways


Indian Railways hauled 770 million t of revenue-earning freight between 1 April and 31 December 2013. This equates to an increase of 34.5 million t, or +4.8%, compared to the 735 million t transported during the corresponding period in 2012. In December 2013, the railfreight service provider conveyed 92 million t of revenue-earning freight, 4 million t (4.5%) more than the 88 million t transported in the same month in 2012. (ben)
