More scanners at MPS Ghana

Merdidian Port Services (MPS) in Tema Port in Ghana, a joint venture between Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority and Meridian Port Holdings Limited, which is, in turn, a joint venture with Bolloré Transport and Logistics and APM Terminals, has procured and installed an additional container scanner at MPS Terminal 3.

This investment brings to six the total number of drive-through container scanners installed in the terminal. The head of construction, Matthieu Ferraro, explained that this sixth scanner will serve as a back up to the other five scanners during the routine maintenance without interrupting the flow of cargo.

The CEO of MPS, Mohamed Samara, highlighted the potentials of the Africa continental free trade agreement (AfCFTA) which comes into force in January 2021. (cd)
