More space, greater range
ATM Global Logistics expands site near La Chaux-de-Fonds, having given the go-ahead for a significant expansion project at the Le Crêt-du-Locle site. With this strategic investment, the company intends to support the continued dynamic business development and at the same time further strengthen the quality and efficiency of its logistics services – both for customers in Switzerland and internationally.
“In view of our constantly increasing volumes and the growing requirements of our customers and partners, the expansion of our logistics infrastructure was an obvious step,” explains Julie Gerber, sales and network manager at ATM Global Logistics, in an interview with the ITJ.
Growth requires new capacities
According to Gerber, the new building was designed according to current technical and sustainable standards and not only enables a significant expansion of storage capacities, but also a comprehensive optimisation of internal processes and operational processes.
The expansion includes two additional indoor docking points, a storage area with more than 7,000 pallet spaces in the racking system and 1,000 m² for block storage. In addition, there will be around 600 m² of modern office space for operational units.
With these new capacities, ATM has responded to growing demands from industry whilst improving the working conditions of its teams on site.
Resilience after the storm
This project is of particular importance against the backdrop of the extreme storms the venue experienced in July 2023, which severely affected the site. “Despite considerable damage, our team never stopped working,” reports CEO John Beck. “Thanks to their extraordinary commitment and cohesion we managed to ensure the continuity of our services even under difficult circumstances.”
Enlargement thus represents not only physical growth, but also the ability to deal with crises, adapt quickly and move forward together with determination. It embodies a signal of stability – and at the same time a clear view of the future.
More than just a building
Completion of the new building is scheduled for August 2025. The new facilities offer modern storage zones, optimised ramps, sustainable infrastructures and ergonomic workplaces.
ATM relies on energy-efficient systems and durable materials to reduce the ecological footprint of its activities in the long term. With the expansion at its traditional location, ATM is also underlining its links to the local economy. Several firms and service providers from the region are involved in the construction – in the sense of sustainable cooperation and to strengthen local value creation.
