Mosolf building solar carport
The Mosolf Group and Axpo have reported they are constructing one of Europe’s largest photovoltaic carport installations at Mosolf’s Kippenheim site in southern Germany. Covering 109,000 m² and equipped with over 54,000 solar modules, the plant will deliver up to 24 MWp of renewable energy. Once operational by end-2026, it is expected to generate over 26,700 MWh annually – enough to power about 6,500 households.
While 85% of the energy will be fed into the public grid, 3 MWp will be used on site. The installation not only boosts Mosolf’s energy independence but also shields thousands of vehicles from weather damage. Axpo contributes its solar know-how, expanding its photovoltaic business in Germany. This strategic move supports both companies’ sustainability goals. (js)
