Motum releases damage report
Motum has released its 2025 damage report, analysing five years of claims data from 50,000 vehicles and over 155,000 incidents.
The study identifies the most common types of fleet damage and their root causes, aiming to improve operational efficiency. External damage dominates in all fleet types, accounting for 76% of claims. Frequent causes include parking collisions, fixed-object impacts, reversing and manoeuvring.
Motum recommends preventive measures such as driver training or grouping non-critical repairs to minimise downtime. “Damage management is no longer just a cost factor – it’s a competitive advantage,” said Motum CEO Dr Moritz Weltgen (pictured, on the right). “Digital tools can reduce expenses by up to 30% and keep fleets where they belong – on the road,” he closed.
