MPP vessel delivered to dp carriers
The second vessel in a series of four multi-purpose heavy lift vessels for dship carriers has been delivered. The “MV Keith” set sail on its maiden voyage from China to Europe via the US Gulf on 18 September 2019.
The “MV Keith” is part of dship carriers’ fleet expansion programme. The F-500 vessel type belongs to the new generation of multi-purpose heavy lift vessels, which have been especially developed to reduce fuel consumption and to increase stowage flexibility. The two largest vessels of the carrier's fleet, “MV Mick” and “MV Keith”, have a combined lifting capacity of up to 500 t. With a 75 m-long main cargo hold and adjustable tween decks, the F-500 vessel type provides various stowage options.
The remaining two ships are scheduled to be delivered in 2020. “With the ongoing expansion plans and the additional two ships to follow, we are strengthening our position in the multi-purpose heavy lift market,” said Lars Feller, global vice president of dship carriers. (fd)
