MSC Air Cargo lands in Liège

MSC, one of the biggest transportation and logistics companies worldwide, has created a new air cargo airline, as a complementary service to its ocean container shipping solutions. The entity, MSC Air Cargo (MAC), is set to use Liege airport (LGG) as its European hub. To this end it started its operations at Liège with a first landing on 3 December.

The first of four MAC-branded Boeing B777-200Fs, which will be operated by Atlas Air, was delivered to MAC recently. The carrier has operated its inaugural trans-Atlantic service, with the unit initially operating four rotations a week from Liege airport. It will connect Mexico City and Indianapolis IN (USA) to Liège regularly.

Additional round-the-world services will be operated from LGG. These routes will be dedicated to pharmaceutical products, perishables and high-value cargo. (cj)
