Mumbai looming large on radar screen
Construction of the long-delayed Navi Mumbai international airport is to start on 18 February 2018. The involvement of India's prime minister, Narendra Modi, is supposed to speed up the project, which went into the planning stage 20 years ago.
GVK-led Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), which is building the airport at an estimated cost of EUR 2 billion, aims to start operations by the end of 2021.
In the meantime, India’s industrial and financial metropolis Mumbai is looming large on the ITJ’s radar.
