New AHS/Menzies cargo terminal opens in Amman
The new cargo terminal at Ammam's Queen Alia airport has officially opened, marking a key step in transforming Jordan into a regional logistics hub. Operated by AHS Jordan, a partner of "Menzies Aviation", the 8,000 sqm facility includes a fully automated handling system from Lödige Industries.
The terminal increases capacity to 60,000 t per year and enables faster, safer and more efficient processes. It features automated ULD storage for 136 units, an elevating transfer vehicle, ergonomic build/break workstations and a control system linked to Menzies’ cargo platform.
Dominique Ceulemans of AHS said the site is designed to meet future demand. Lödige’s Guy Walker confirmed long-term system support to ensure performance and scalability. (ah)
