New board for Nigerian airports authority


The new board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (Faan)was presented to the industry in the Nigerian capital Abuja early in July by the Nigerian minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo.

 

He called the event a milestone in the country’s efforts to reposition the sector for safety, performance and a global ability to compete.

 

Keyamo urged the board to focus on improving security, sustainability in the nation’s airports. He stressed that the aviation gateway must become symbols of national pride.

 

FAAN’s new board chairman Dr Umar Ganduje promised to uphold statutory duties and international standards and to reaffirm Nigeria’s aviation leadership on the continent.

 

The board includes representatives from the aviation, defence, justice, tourism and legal services sectors.
