New cranes at Regensburg

The intermodal operator Bayernhafen, Germany, is enhancing its equipment. As the largest freight transport and cargo handling hub in all of Bavaria, Regensburg is the chosen location of the company that has five more inland port locations: Aschaffenburg, Bamberg, Nuremberg, Roth and Passau.

The reach stack operations of Regensburg terminal are being upgraded with Kuenz Cranes. KT-Infrastrukturgesellschaft, which is in the process of rebuilding the existing terminal in Wiener Strasse in Regensburg, has opted for this supplier.

The scope of the project includes a trimodal container gantry crane, featuring a telescopic spreader and gripping tongs. Project completion is scheduled for summer 2021. Every year, Bayernhafen handles more than 9 million t of goods by ship and train. (mw)
