New cross-Channel service

A new unaccompanied cross-Channel freight service will become available for all carriers from 18 September 2021. The crossing will be managed by Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Freight and operate 24 hours a day and six days per week, departing from the group's terminals in Calais and Folkestone.

The Eurotunnel Border Pass will allow carriers to speed up the border crossing by digitising their administrative exchanges with the border authorities.

With a capacity of 8,300 trailers per year, the new rail service will emit 40 times less CO2 than ferries and help the French and UK governments to realise their goals to decarbonise freight transports. (ben)
