New equipment for Mombasa Terminal

Kenya Port Authority (KPA) has chosen new equipment for its Mombasa Container Terminal. Three forklift trucks were ordered in Q2/2021, eight reachstackers in Q3/2021. All the machines are scheduled for delivery at the beginning of 2022.

KPA manages and operates the Port of Mombasa and all scheduled seaports along Kenya’s coastline. The port is also a gateway to eastern and central Africa and one of the busiest on the east African coastline.

KPA’s diverse equipment fleet includes Kalmar terminal tractors, forklift trucks, reachstackers and rubber tyred gantry cranes. The new orders closely follow orders for four Kalmar Gloria reachstackers delivered in 2020 and a total of 50 Kalmar terminal tractors, delivered to KPA in 2019 and 2020. (cd)
