New healthcare logistics centre

Bolloré Logistics has opened its first national centre for healthcare products in Germany. The facility, located just 15 minutes from Frankfurt airport, covers around 1,900 sqm and houses the firm’s import and export activities.

The platform has three temperature-controlled zones; its ambient stabilised zone (15–25°C), the cooled/chilled area (2–8°C) and the frozen zone (–30°C). Bolloré offers cross-docking operations, labelling, active and passive packaging solutions, and processes air export flows in a specific area.

The platform, which sports an ambient and refrigerated cooling concept powered by solar panels, also contains modern equipment, including an X-ray machine. It is GDP-certified, as are all main Bolloré Logistics sites, with air hubs also certified according to Iata’s CEIV Pharma. Both programmes adhere to the European and WHO guidelines for good distribution practices (GDP). (ben)
