New intermodal connection for Europe's largest inland port

Contargo is introducing a new Duisburg–Wilhelmshaven shuttle in Germany in January. The intermodal link will initially offer one round trip a week. An increase to two round trips a week is planned for the second quarter.

The first block train will depart from JadeWeserPort in Wilhelmshaven on the evening of 15 January 2023 and arrive at the Duisburg Intermodal Terminal (DIT) on the morning of 16 January.

The DIT in Europe’s largest inland port offers connections to and from Austria, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands. On their onward leg the containers can reach their destination by barge or truck. (ben)
