New IT hub in Porto
A new IT centre in Portugal has been launched by Kuehne+Nagel. According to a press release it will “focus on developing new products, e-solutions and digital services”. About 200 software engineers will be employed in Porto by mid-2022 on standardisation and automation tasks.
The Portuguese city is home to an international tech scene, many new firms and development labs. Martin Kolbe, CIO and a member of Kuehne+Nagel International’s management board, is in charge of the unit, which will contribute to developing the group's ‘digital master plan’.
Kuehne+Nagel’s IT unit, the group’s internal software workshop, owns and develops in-house solutions in Hamburg (Germany) and Tallin (Estonia).(sh)
