New MSC service calls at BCT

Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in Gdynia (Poland) has been added to MSC’s Britannia Ocean Service, linking Asia directly with Northern Europe. The rotation includes Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Vung Tau, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp and Liverpool. The service’s first call was made by the "MSC Rose" exactly one month ago, on 9 April, followed by the "MSC Daria" on 17 April.

With capacities of over 15,000 teu, both vessels underline BCT’s readiness to handle ultra large containerships. CEO Wojciech Szymulewicz expects the new call to boost export transshipment and intermodal traffic, reinforcing Gdynia’s role as a deep-water gateway in the Baltic. BCT handled 8,200 teu during the "MSC Rose" call alone. (ah)
