New route extends intermodal options in Asia

Fesco has launched a new intermodal container service running from Japan to Uzbekistan via China and Kazakhstan. The offer includes marine transport from the port of Yokohama (Japan) to the port of Lianyungang (China, Jiangsu Province).

Then the containers continue their journey on the Trans China Railway, which connects China with Kazakhstan. At the Khorgos – Altynkol border crossing, containers are reloaded to 1,520 gauge rolling stock and are then delivered to their place of destination – the Chukursai station in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

The service is to run twice a month. Fesco expects that the main cargo transported by the new service will be car parts from Japan. (ben)
