New UK–EU deal reshapes compliance

Adam Grimshaw (pictured), the compliance manager for the Customs Support Group, says the Windsor Framework is entering a transition phase as a new EU–UK trade deal may streamline customs further. The green/red lane model has caused confusion, but the changes are "believed to further positively impact trade between the UK, Northern Ireland and the rest of the EU via the Irish Sea gateway," as the company stated.

While some infrastructure may be redundant, the priority now is testing and adjustment. Customs Support, with more than 100 offices in Europe, guides firms through UKIMS registration and customs clearance for the UK–Ireland corridor. (js)
