North Vietnamese terminal hits the mark

In Vietnam, Tan Vu terminals at the Hai Phong Port in Dinh Vu Industrial Park handled its one millionth teu in mid-November. While the ports in southern Vietnam tend to be the busiest, this is the first time a port in northern Vietnam has handled one million teu in a year, despite the current congestion and disruption in global supply chains.

By the end of October, the port had handled 24 million t of goods, a growth of 8% compared to the same period last year. The port fulfilled its annual plan objective in September. Over the past five years, it handled an average 930,000 teu of container cargo per year. The extension of the port network by the construction of the Lach Huyen gateway seaport is set to begin in Q1/2022. (sh)
