Northrail adds Vectrons to fleet
Siemens has inked a major framework agreement with Rive, Northrail’s parent company, for 50 Vectron locomotives.
The deal covers the delivery of 15 locomotives, along with a comprehensive full-service contract spanning eight years, with an option to order an additional 35 and extend the service contract by another eight years.
The contract is further bolstered by innovative fleet monitoring via Railigent X, which supports maintenance and life-cycle management.
The contract was signed just before the 40th Vectron dual-mode locomotive was handed over. (ben)
