Now operating in Kenya

Hapag-Lloyd has opened a new office in Kenya. While the main business will be managed from the port city of Mombasa, the ocean carrier will also be represented with an office in the East African country's capital Nairobi.

Prashant Sindhwani, former operations director for Area India, will lead the team of initially 26 as country manager. Hapag-Lloyd currently operates two services to and from Kenya: the China-Kenya express service (CKX) links Kenya with major ports in Asia like Singapore and Shanghai, while the East Africa Service (EAS2) connects the country with the west coast of India and Jebel Ali in Dubai.

Dheeraj Bhatia, senior managing director Middle East region: "Our new office will support our ambitious growth plans for the African continent." (amh)
