ÖBB sells Q Logistics to Mutares

The Munich (Germany)-based holding company Mutares has received approval from the relevant vendors’ committees to purchase the business of Q Logistics, a logistics subsidiary of the Austrian state railways ÖBB. The take-over is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019 or the first quarter of 2020.

For Mutares this acquisition is already the eighth transaction in the current financial year. Q Logistics, which belongs to the „goods & services“ portfolio segment, is a provider of cross-border transport logistics and warehousing services with a comprehensive network in Austria.

The company focuses on the groupage and charter business and serves customers from various sectors, including the food, pharmaceuticals and fast-moving-consumer goods- industries. In the financial year 2018, Q Logistics generated a consolidated total turnover (including its subsidiary in Czechia) of around EUR 250 million and employed a total staff of roughly 920 employees.
