ONE's intra-Asian service network under change

The big carriers are preparing their new schedules for 2020. The Japanese Ocean Network Express (ONE), based in Singapore, has now disclosed the details of its Intra-Asia Japan service network for 2020.

ONE will operate seven of these services on its own, and rely on co-loading with partners in five of the services through slots. ONE has been a member of the THE Alliance since 2017. The two main enhancements: firstly, a Keelung call is added to the Japan Straits Malaysia (JSM) service, providing direct coverage from Japan ports to Keelung, and from Keelung to Singapore and Malaysia.

Secondly, ONE has also rescheduled the port rotation of the JTV1 (Japan Thailand Vietnam) service to improve transit times from Laem Chabang and Cai Mep to Yokohama and Tokyo. The JTV1 will now call the ports Yokohama – Tokyo – Shimizu – Pusan – Laem Chabang – Cai Mep – and back to Yokohama. The new service network is scheduled to launch from April 2020, subject to necessary regulatory approvals. (mw)
