Operations at Tibar Bay port begin
After four years of preparation, the new port in Tibar Bay is now operational. A USD 490 million investment over a 30-year period is planned for the country's first public-private partnership which is located 12 km from East Timor’s capital city Dili.
The equipment includes two STS gantries, four RTGs, ten terminal tractors and sixteen trailers to handle 7,500 teu in a row.
Timor Port officially launched its operations at the new port with the arrival of the vessels “Selatan Damai” of the Singaporean company Mariana Express Lines (MELL), subsidiary of Pacific International Lines (PIL), and “Meratus Pematangsiantar”, which belongs to maritime and logistics operator Meratus.
