Oversized tanks reach Paraguay
Dako worldwide transport has recently completed a complex project delivery of oversized brewery equipment from Germany and China for a plant expansion in Paraguay. The main components were 14 tanks, each weighing up to 42 t and measuring 23.2 x 7.3 x 8.8 m – the size of two city buses and nearly as tall as a three-storey building. The shipment travelled from Shanghai to Montevideo, Uruguay, before being transferred onto barges for a 1,075 km river voyage along the Río Paraná and Río Paraguay.
According to Dako the tanks were discharged close to the site, reducing the transport distance by road. "South America always tests experience and local knowledge. But backed by decades of successful DAP deliveries, we once again proved our strength in managing complex turn-key projects," the company stated. (js)
