Partnering for port safety

The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (Pema) and the International Cargo Handling Coordination Association (ICHCA) have joined forces to enhance safety and sustainability. The partnership will include cooperation on various initiatives, information sharing, and task forces to address shared concerns.

While it doesn't involve financial commitments, the MOU aims to collectively improve industry standards and practices. Pema's president Achim Dries sees this collaboration as a significant step in advancing the global port and terminal sector. Richard Steele, CEO of ICHCA, is optimistic about the potential to enhance safety, security, and sustainability in logistics through this partnership.

The MOU underscores the importance of information exchange and collaboration among members to promote best practices and higher industry standards. (pb)
