Port of Vladivostok posts a rise in imports

Rising cargo volumes have been flowing into the Port of Vladivostok on Russia’s Pacific Coast. According to the port press office, imports have increased by 150% over the last three months. Per month, throughput amounted to approximately 28,000 teu.

The container lines that left the Russian market have been replaced by companies from the Asia Pacific Region, such as Heung-A Line, SITC, GFL, Reel Shipping, Zhonggu Shipping Group and OVR Shipping among others. Vladivostok is also a point of intermodal significance since it is the eastern hub of the Trans-Siberian railway. (sh)
